Hah! A MUI leaders forbade Sincerely Red and White?

A Leader Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Central, KH A Cholil Ridwan forbids Muslims to pay homage to the flag and national anthem.

Cholil statement is contained in a Tabloid Suara Islam issue 109 (dated 18 March to 1 April 2011). She answers reader questions in the Rubric Consulting Ulama. The reader raised the case of a friend who was expelled from school, because do not want to respect the flag during the ceremony.

Cholil said that in Islam, respect the flag is not allowed. Cholil referring to the fatwa of Saudi Arabia is ruled by the Institute for Studies and Research Fatwa Still in December 2003 which forbids a Muslim to stand up to salute the flag and national anthem.

MUI Chairman KH Java Abdusshomad beritajatim.com Buchori when confirmed on Tuesday (03/22/2011) claimed to have not heard of any of the MUI fatwa haram center about respect for the flag and national anthem.

"It's probably just a personal opinion, not a decision issued by the institution fatwa MUI. If there should be national fatwa. It must be seen first context, the public should not be affected first," he said.

The same thing also disclosed Chairman of East Java PWNU Mutawakil Alallah KH. It ensures, respect for the flag and national anthem as well as with respect both parents, so it is not forbidden in any religion

"There is no theorem which forbids, if worship and glorify it was unlawful. But if you just respect, yes it's okay and does not need to be banned," he said.

He added, national anthem and flag is a unifying symbol of the nation so it is legitimate to do homage to it. Just who is prohibited from doing homage to excess.

Here are a few reasons stated KH Cholil Ridwan of the prohibition respecting the flag. Namely, first, saluted the flag, including acts of heresy that had never been done at the time of the Prophet or the Khulafa 'ar-Rasyidun (the leadership of four companions of the Prophet).

Second, respect the flag of monotheism against the compulsory perfect and sincerity in the glorification of God alone. Third, respect the flag is a means toward kesyirikan.

And fourth, respect the flag is an activity that followed an ugly tradition of pagans, and match them in exaggerated attitudes of leaders and protocol-official protocol.

Cholil also quoted Shaykh Ibn Jibrin (one of the leading scholars from Saudi Arabia) which states that respect for the flag is an act that exaggerate inanimate objects. Even actions that could be categorized as polytheism.

According Cholil, how to respect the right in Islam is to give greetings. However, he wrote again, meaning greeting is praying, so it is not worth it at the flag, which is an inanimate object.

Cholil said that if we want to respect the country, then the best way is to listen and obey the rules state that are not worth as immoral and Islamic law and the praying of the state apparatus in order to always have God's guidance
